B.C. Catholic school, archdiocese face another sex abuse case

Vancouver, BC - A B.C. man is alleging he was subjected to sexual abuse and physical violence while a boy at a Vancouver Roman Catholic school. The victim said in an Oct. 7 Supreme Court of B.C. notice of civil claim that he suffered organized and protracted psychological, physical, spiritual and sexualized abuse by various lay and religious teachers and staff when he was a minor and a student at Vancouver College, a private Roman Catholic all-boys school between 1980 and 1984.

Ted Colleton after acknowledging allegations he sexually abused a student at Blackrock College. The Spiritans have apologized to one victim and are urging others to contact their safeguarding office.

Bishop Accountability - May 15, 2026 Alberta - The Alberta Court of Appeal ruled that a class-action lawsuit against the Canadian government can proceed over abuse linked to former military chaplain Angus McRae. The court found the government could be liable if McRae helped enable the abuse, even if he did not directly abuse the lead plaintiff, Bobbie Bees.
